BOWNET GOAL - SETUP

BOWNET GOAL - TAKE DOWN

GOAL SAFETY

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has reported 26 deaths and hundreds of injuries resulting from soccer goal accidents. Securely anchoring portable goals is the most important step we can take to prevent soccer goal injuries. While most injuries come from children climbing on top of improperly secured goals, injuries have occurred when goals have tipped over or when goals are being set-up/taken down.

The following guidelines should be followed to ensure the safety of all our players:
  • ALL GOALS should be anchored and inspected prior to each use.
  • Goals may be anchored/secured with stakes or sandbags.
  • Referees should check each goal as part of their safety inspection of the field prior to each match.
  • If used for practice, the coach should ensure the goal is properly anchored.
  • Ensure Bownet goals are fully extended and in the locked position prior to use.
  • No climbing or hanging on goals.

SAFETY

Welcome to the AYSO Region 41 Safety Tips webpage. In a continuing mission to develop and deliver a quality youth soccer program that provides a fair, fun, safe and positive environment in which to play soccer, below are several important safety tips to be followed by Parents, Coaches and Referees.  Additional safety tips can be found on the AYSO National website.

Insurance

AYSO provides Soccer Accident Insurance (“SAI”), which pays excess medical costs to an insured person (defined as an AYSO-currently-registered player, coach, referee or other volunteer) for accidental bodily injuries incurred as a direct result of participation in a “covered activity”.
Click Here >> AYSO National website for a more detailed explanation of the plan and for claim forms and detailed brochures. For assistance please contact the Safety Director at [email protected].

Upon returning from the injury, parents need to complete a Participation Release Form and deliver the signed form to the Safety DIrector or Commissioner prior to the player returning to play. The form is available at (Click Here )Participation Release Form.
In the Case of a concussion, A separate release is required, signed by the attending doctor.

Finally, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,
DO NOT bring your Dogs (and Pets) to the fields for games or practices.  The city can and will pull our permits for field use for this violation. This is a City Ordinance and AYSO National Policy.  It will be very hard to conduct a youth soccer program without fields.

Thank you all for addressing these issues as the great people you are.
